Saudi Road Transportation: Syed Mohd. Saleh Uddin

Not only Saudi Arabia but also complete Arab world is in Arabian Peninsula. Most of its land is covered with desert. However there are also oases in that great desert. From the beginning of the human civilization human being had to use this land. As our creator Allah made arrangement to meet first man and woman i.e. Adam and Eve in this earth first in a place of the Arabian desert.  This is  the faith of the  believers.

In 2014 during  my travel of Mecca and Medina in the month of September and October as a pilgrims I had a chance to experience atmosphere from Jeddah to Medina. For the information of future pilgrims and other traveler to Mecca and Medina I like t

Alexander soldiers, Mongol hordes, later warring nations rushed to fight and conquer others land. How during Moses(PBUH), Abraham (PBUH) and our prophet(S) preachers used to preach the religion of monotheism. During our bus travel from Jeddah to Mecca and then to Medina we experienced very scorching heat. Though bus was air conditioned. Roads were very smooth. But during time of prophet there were no good road from one to place another place. Then they had to struggle very hard for their livelihood.

Now KSA is one of the rich country. The Government of that country given very importance for its road transportation. As this big countries having many cities, towns and villages scattered far and near. In the desert there are nomad oases. Government of KSA given attention to build road net works. Specially all the cities and towns are linked with big and small roads. Though pilgrims can move from Jeddah to Mecca and Medina during Hajj months yet a list of big cities of KSA is attached here from wikipedia for international readers. Because from Bangladesh and many countries of the world sends their unemployed interested people to serve in KSA. So, far I heard in almost all the cities of the KSA there are Bangladeshi workers.

o say climatic temperature may rise to 55 degree  in centigrade scale. During my travel in Mecca average temperature was 35*c(temp of Sept) and in Medina 31*c( temp of Oct). I wonder how in the rough ancient days when travels were mere on foot or at best by the beast of burden like camel, horse, donkey and mule. Then also that desert people survived.
